Weesey Turch

In a conversation with my sister Reese has figured out every one's last names, but got it a little confused. With my maiden name being Dye and our last name being Church, it can be pretty confusing for a kid. She came and had to tell me what every one's name was.

Here's what she said--

"Momma, I Weesey Turch and Memie died(Emy) and Deagan died-- Buggar died(her uncle Tyson) -- Audrey died but Tatum not died she go turch and daddy is Tortamey Turch, we not died we just go turch." I just said yep your right good job. It was pretty cute. She really has such a funny personality. You cant help but fall in love with her. Our lives would be so dull without her keeping us on our toes. Even though at times she is such a little turd, she fills our hearts with joy and laughter. We are so lucky to have such wonderful girls, they inspire us each and every day to be better people, and remind us what life is really all about.

Saturday

The girls had a blast picking out different CD's and looking at the covers.

Then we started going through the discount bin and finding all kinds of fun stuff. Tatum even found a brand new Cinderella dress up dress.

The girls showing off some sweet over sized Hanna Montana glasses

Earlier in the day we taught the girls how to slide down the stairs in sleeping bags. They had so much fun and ask everyday since then if they can get their sleeping bags out and slide some more. Who knew 1 sleeping bag could provide hours of fun.

Court even decided to get in on the action. And realized it hurts a lot more than he remembered.

Talents

We are so proud of our girls and their many talents!!
The Eye!!
This started out with Tatum leaning over to Court and I in the middle of Sacrament Meeting with her one eye crossed and said "Hi mom and dad." It took everything we had to not burst out laughing.

Then It went to the girls sitting in the back of the car while we were going to the store and Tatum saying "that's it, yeah you've got it Reese." I don't know how but some how Tatum taught Reese the same beautiful talent

This is both of the girls showing off. The funny thing is that when they look at each other it looks like they are doing the same eye

Tatum's Drawing Talent

Thankfully Tatum has inherited her dad's drawing talent and not mine. Here are a few pictures Tatum has drawn. They are of all the Disney Princesses. And of course being the mom, I think they are pretty creative.

Happy Halloween

Here's a few pictures from Halloween. This was before the festivities began. Nana bought them these shirts and Tatum thought she was so cool because hers "glued in the dark"
This was Reese's costume. She was Tinkerbell/fairy, I didn't have any green material so we improvised.

And of course Tatum was Cinderella. Does it surprise you that she was a princess?

This is the girls Trick or Treating at Aunt Hailey's house. I don't know why but our kids think when you take a picture you have to contort your body and stand so uncomfortably

And the sugar coma following the night. Notice the glazed eyes.
Our ward had a trunk or treat so we went to that and afterwards went to all the Grandma's and Grandpa's houses. The girls had a blast except for when Reese saw the creepy skeleton mask with blood dripping down the face. She instantly went into survival mode and clung to her daddy's neck. All in all it was a big success.

More pictures from Seattle

This is the huge tower made up of guitars. It would even play music.
This is me working on a few of my tracks. They had a room upstairs that you could play the guitars, pianos, basses, and drums. And then little recording studios that you could record your own music video.
This is the football game just as it got started. Notice the huge crowd!
And after the Seahawks started loosing.
This is Jimi Hendrix grave site. They were just finishing renovating it and I was supposed to be done the week after we left, but really cool anyway.

"Getting Out More"

A couple of weeks ago Court and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary by going to Seattle to a Packers/Seahawks game. We got really good airline tickets and really good seats at a pretty good price to the game. We left the girls with my mom and just went for the weekend. It was hard to leave them, but we had so much fun. It was really nice to get away with just the two of us. I love it in Seattle, I've been before when I was younger but Court had never been there, so it was some what new to the both of us.

My sister and brother in law came up from Portland to hang out with us for the first night. We ended up going on a fairy ride to a little island for dinner. Which was really cool, we left seeing the sunset and came back to the city lights (highly recommend it). This local girl had told us there was a casino on the island with a really good 2 for 1 buffet and restaurant and if you stayed there for at least 3 hrs than they validate your fairy ride, so we thought we would try it out. Well to make a long story short there wasn't a 2 for 1 deal that was on Tuesdays, and you have to have 3 hrs of active play time or 50 points and your "players card." So after hanging out for 3 hrs and playing a few games we ended up with 7 min of play time a piece and Court was the high roller with 3 points. I on the other hand had a whopping .2 points (note to self don't ever take me to Vegas). It was a lot of fun and we walked away with double Courts money and a lot of good memories.

The next day was the game but first we went to the Experience Music Project Museum. I didn't think Court would ever leave. It was really cool. It was mostly focused on Jimi Hendrix, but they had a lot of displays of other bands who got their start in Seattle. They had a really cool section on the whole grunge era. I wish I had more pictures but they wouldn't let you take pictures of anything behind glass.
After that we headed over to the game. It was the loudest stadium that I have ever been to. We did find out though that Seahawks fans are not so loyal to their team. They were going crazy when they were winning and towards the end when the Packers were winning they got up and left. There was still a whole quarter left and I think they were only down by a touchdown. I was a lot of fun though, a much needed vacation for the both of us. I have some more pictures but for some reason my computer will not let me download them. I will have to post them later.

Our little Ariel

Okay so Tatum is really into princesses right now and lately has been telling everyone her name is Ariel. At labor day she told one of my cousins little girls, who by the way thought it was the coolest thing that someones name was Ariel, and everyone else along the way. She of course makes friends where ever she goes and every once in a while I would hear someone calling out Ariel. Well the latest on this is on Friday we went with my dad, my brother's family and my sister to the MHS homecoming game. And I made her put pants and shoes on (which she never wears because dresses make her pretty like a princess) and she threw a fit. So in the rush to try and calm her down I told her that if she puts her shoes on I will tell anyone that asks that her name is Ariel and I wont even tell them that her real name is Tatum. That was obviously enough because she put her shoes right one and we were off. Well we get to the game and my sister-in-law sees one of the girls in her young women's who is a cheerleader, so she comes over to say hi to the girls and what was the first thing she asks Tatum. That's right Whats your name? Tatum instantly looks at me and points to me like well mom what are you going to tell her? I was trying so hard not to laugh when I told the girl Tatum's name was Ariel. You should have seen the look on Tatum's face she got the biggest grin on her face and strutted off. We were all dying laughing as we walked away. She cracks me up.

Labor Day 2008

This was our annual Gibbons family reunion. Every Labor Day my mom and her brothers take turns being in charge, this year was my mom's year and we went up to Sawtelle Mountain Resort in Island Park. We had a blast. It's always fun to get together with all of my family.

This is Tatum and Grandma G. My uncle brought up this scooter for Grandma G so she could come and go as she pleased. She loved giving all the great grand kids rides around the RV Park. We said she took grandpa's place, instead of horse rides (which is what we grew up with) it had a bit of a modern twist. All the kids would line up and wait their turns just like when we were little. I wish I would have gotten a picture of it, it was pretty cute.

We had a survivor theme and had a bunch of different activities and challenges. We had a physical, mental, and eating. This was the physical challenge. My little brother was the Rep. for our team. They drew different body parts out of a hat (PG of course) and you had to put a clothes pin on that body part. Its was pretty funny.

This was the balloon launch. There were about 10 teams on the other side waiting to catch the balloons and get soaked. We did manage to miss quite a few cars so I consider it a success.

And of course Tatum's favorite...swimming. This is her and her
second cousin Hayden. She had a blast and keeps asking if we can go camping again. Little does she know that when we do go camping
again it's going to be in the woods and not have all the cousins and activities. Its was a lot of fun thought.

The bike must die

Ever since we bought Tatum her bike we have told her that she needs to park her bike at the front of the garage and not behind dad's truck. Well it finally happened. Court was leaving for work and just as he was backing out he heard a loud pop. He got out of the truck and to no surprise found the bike. Luckly it just broke the training wheel on the one side. You were lucky today little bike, but watch out next time. The funny thing is that Tatum still tried to ride it and when she discovered that it didn't work too well got very mad and told her friends that she couldn't ride bikes because her dad ran hers over. (Like he did it on purpose). Maybe next time she will learn.

Our Little Rodeo Queen

Well it's official Tatum has now gone country. Linda signed Tatum and her cousin Ellie up for the Muttin' Bustin' contest at the War Bonnet Roundup, and Tatum loved it.
We really thought she would chicken out once she saw all the other kids being thrown off, so Court told her that if she just tried it he would let her pick out any toy that she wanted. Apparently that was enough motivation for her because not only did she try it but she got 2nd place.

She held on to first place for a long time until the kid that got first ran into a fence and still hung on. He beat her by 2 points, Court thought the judges just didn't want to give a "Red Rider
Beebe Gun" to a girl. She'd probably shoot her eye out

You should have seen her eyes when they brought out her trophy that stood about 3 inches taller than her and to make things even better it was pink.
She is totally pumped for next year.

Way to Go Tatum, we are so proud of you!
